Carnival of Viareggio

Viareggio – from February 4^th to February 25^th 2023

The tradition of Viareggio Carnival continues year after year, with his allegorical floats made of papier-mache, full of political, and social satire. Now in its 150° edition, on January 30^th will be the “Corso di Apertura dei Festeggiamenti di Carnevale”, with the evocative historical parade of masks and bands and with the pyrotechnic show. On February 7^th, 11^th, 14^th, 16^th, 20^th there will be the masked courses with allegoric floats of the giant works of the "papier-mâché masters" of Viareggio.

The Butteri of Maremma

Roselle – on Wednesdays, from June 15^th to September 15^th

Butteri: the last herders on horseback in Europe. The show offers a unique chance to live the real tradition of Maremma. In a beautiful historical farm, between millennials olive trees, the Butteri show in a real demonstration of their daily activities. It is possible to buy the biological products of the farm: oil, wine, peeled tomatoes, jams etc… Dinner with typical menu with Classic Manu from Maremma.

Festival of Cacio of Pienza

Pienza – first Saturday and first Sunday of September

The festival in a unique possibility for passionate of Wine and Food to taste the typical products that have made this territory famous all over the world. Pienza has been known as the “Capital” of Cacio Pecorino. There are also manifestations in the square of the historical centre.

Festival of Mockingbird

Montalcino – last Sunday of October

The hill of Montalcino is home to a flow of migratory birds, mostly Mockingbirds, and offers a festival that has no equal. It recalls the rides and tournaments organized at the end of the hunting season. There are typical meals, local wines, and the archery competition (by payment on the spot) between the 4 districts of the city: Borghetto, Ruga, Travaglio and Pianello. The winners get as award the Silver Arrow.
