1st DAY: MONTEPULCIANO, PIENZA
Arrival of the group in Montepulciano in the late morning. This splendid Renaissance village known for the red and soft wine called "the noble wine". Begin of the services. Meeting with the guide (if reserved). The group will have a little break in the historic centre and visit the Civic Museum and the "Pinacoteca". The group will then proceed to the Duomo, the Church of “Sant’Agostino”, and the Church of “San Biagio”. Time for lunch will be given or the group can have lunch in a restaurant (if reserved). In the afternoon, transfer with the bus to Pienza. Visit of the beautiful cathedral (in Renaissance style externally and in Gothic style inside) and the “Piccolomini” Palace, known for its splendid courtyard and arches. If desired, the group can visit an agricultural facility to participate in a wine tasting and taste some local products such as cheese. Accommodation in the preselected hotel, dinner and an overnight stay.
2nd DAY: PITIGLIANO, SOVANA, SORANO
After breakfast, transfer to Pitigliano. The town is situated on a steep tuff rock. The houses were built with different heights on the surface of this tuff rock. The area of Pitigliano has valleys surrounding and it shows the contrast of the verticals of the high houses and the green of the valleys. Meeting with the guide (if reserved). Visit of the village. Like almost all the medieval villages of this region, Pitigliano is surrounded by a city wall as well as a natural one, a castle and a village. The man-made walls are reduced in some areas depending on the location of the village and due to its natural location of the tuff rock the area is already naturally protected. The castle was the residence of the family Orsini even if it was restructured several times but it still shows two large columns, a beautiful court, and a beautiful room that hosts two museums of Pitigliano. To visit is also the ancient Church of Santa Maria dedicate to San Rocco, patron of Pitigliano, the Duomo, the quarters called "Fratta" and most of all the wine cellars of Pitigliano: a real underground city. Lunch in a “maremmano” typical restaurant. In the afternoon transfer to Sovana, ancient medieval village perfectly conserved. The group will visit: “Rocca Aldobrandesca”, the Church of “Santa Maria”, “Palazzo dell’Archivio”, “Palazzo Pretorio”, “Palazzo Boubon” and the Duomo of “San Pietro”. Furthermore, the numerous Etruscan tombs of various sizes and types located in the near medieval centres and some inserted in the tuff. Visit of: tomb "Ildebranda", "Cavone Etrusco", "Tomba della Sirena", "Via Cava di San Sebastiano", "Tomba del Tifone" and others. Then transfer to Sorano situated in the "Alta Maremma Toscana" in the internal of the Archaeological Park of the Tuff Cities, where art and nature offer some breath-taking landscape with the Etruscan necropolis in the whole territory of the Archaeological Park. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
3rd DAY: AREZZO
After breakfast transferring to Arezzo, city with ancient origins, which is located on a hill, over the valleys of Casentino. Meeting with the guide (if reserved) and visit of the city: the Cathedral, Church “Santa Maria della Pieve”, “Piazza Grande”, “Basilica San Francesco”, Church “San Domenico” and the Archaeological Museum. Lunch in a restaurant with a typical Tuscan menu. End of services.
