1st DAY: GAIOLE IN CHIANTI, RADDA IN CHIANTI, CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI
Arrival of the group in the late morning in Gaiole in Chianti. The village is born tanks to the commercial trades along the Massellane torrent. The region of Gaiole is crossed by the “Castle street”, consequence of the noble families medieval tradition to built a castle. The most famous is the Brolio's Castle, today reputed farm where is permitted the visit of the cellar, of the vineyards and the museum too. Here it's possible to make degustation of Chianti wine (if reserved). Lunch at group's leisure or in castle (if reserved). In the afternoon continuation to Radda in Chianti. Meeting with the guide and visit of the ancient medieval village located in the heart of the Chianti region. Of the town-walls remains today only a few stretches and some of the observation towers. The little streets open yourselves in four or five point, and create modern little square very agreeable. The most import building is the Pretorio palace, built in the second part of XV century. Transfer to Castellina in Chianti, one of the most important village of the region with your ancient historical centre. Do not miss the “Camminamento delle Volte.” Check–in at hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd DAY: BARBERINO VAL D'ELSA, TAVARNELLE VAL DI PESA, CERTALDO
After breakfast departure for Barberino Val d'Elsa, meeting with the guide and visit of the ancient village. Many are the mark of the medieval past: some town walls stretches, the doors and many buildings such as the Palazzo Pretorio which has the façade decorated with family coats of arms, the “Palazzo del Cardinale”, the “Spedale dei Pellegrini” and the San Bartolomeo's Church. Do not miss the Chianti landscape that you can admire from the Church façade in the historical centre. You can admire all the Chianti's region and in- close up the little fortified village of Tignano, built ion the XII century. Continuation to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Lunch at group's leisure or in restaurant (if reserved). In the afternoon continuation to Certaldo. The village is crossed by the Elsa river. The ancient part “Certaldo Alta” located on a hill is a wonderful medieval village example, perfectly conserved, close to the traffic can be reach by a funicular (4 minutes to take 55 meters of difference in altitude ) or by feet. The modern quarter is situated on the plain and its development is due to the great economic expansion of the XVIII century and to the railways built in XIX century. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd DAY: GREVE IN CHIANTI
After breakfast departure for Greve in Chianti. Situated on an important network, has developed as a market place. The market take place in the triangular place surrounding by arcades, today called Matteotti square. Meeting with the guide. Optionally it is possible to visit the “Arte Sacra Museum” located into the San Francesco's ex convent, that allow an important collection of paints, sculpture, vestments and sacred furnishings. Visit of Panzano and of the “Pieve di San Leolino”. Lunch is at group's leisure or in restaurant (if reserved). Ends of services.
