1st DAY: LUCCA
Arrival of the group in Lucca in the morning. Lunch in a restaurant (if reserved). In the afternoon, meeting with the tour guide and visit of the historical centre of Lucca which is surrounded by city walls and characterized by alleys, stores and goldsmith laboratories. Visit of the “Baptistry” and the churches of “SS Giovanni and Reparata”, the “Sacrestia del Duomo” and the “Ilaria del Carretto” monument. If time permitting, it is possible to visit the museum of the cathedral and the national museum of the Villa “Guinigi”. Accommodation in a hotel in the area of (Versilia or Montecatini), dinner and an overnight stay.
2nd DAY: CINQUE TERRE
After breakfast, transfer to La Spezia and boarding of the ferry from were the wild and antique beauties of the Cinque Terre can be observed. Meeting with the guide. The ferry will pass the coastline to admire the famous marine villages of Portovenere, Rio Maggiore, Manarola, and Corneglia. Stop in Vernazza where old houses with stair cases lead down to the sea and where the church of "Santa Margherita di Antiochia” is build right in the town square. The next ferry stop is Monterosso, the largest village of the Cinque Terrre. Lunch in restaurant (if reserved) or time will be given for Lunch. After Lunch, it is possible to return to La Spezia by train (payment on the spot) or by foot to make a more fascinating itinerary: departing by train to Manarola (payment on the spot), from where it is possible to walk on the so called “Via dell' Amore” to Rio Maggiore and admire the enchanting panoramic view on a path excavated into the rock until Rio Maggiore. From Rio Maggiore the train will take the group to La Spezia were the bus will expect the group and return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
3rd DAY: LE ALPI APUANE
After breakfast, transfer to Carrara. Meeting with the tour guide to visit the famous marble caves where excavations began 2000 years ago. If time permitting is it possible to visit the Dom and the Civic Marble Museum. Transfer to Marina di Carrara. Lunch in a restaurant (if reserved) or time will be given to have Lunch on their own.
