1st DAY: Reaching the country side of “La Spezia” in the morning. Services will start. Lunch in a restaurant (if reserved). In the first afternoon meeting with the guide and leaving for an afternoon excursion for the “Cinque Terre” at 2:15 PM. Break at Monterosso which is the last village of this famous coast. The ancient town rises on the rocky hills overlooking the sea and has some typical little coloured houses. It is constantly at risk of corrosions. The castle with its surrounded walls and its Medieval tower as well as the tower of “Aurora”. Return trip to “la Spezia” with the motorboat at 6:30 PM. Continuing the trip to “Versilia” and proceeding to the hotel for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
2nd DAY: After breakfast, the group will arrive at the port of Piombino. The boarding pass for the ferry has to be picked up at the Ticket Office of the Moby Lines at the Marine Office. Then the boarding process will start for the bus and the passengers for the Isle of Elba. After approximately one hour the ferry will arrive at Portoferraio. After leaving the ferry, an assistant from our office will be at the port of arrival to deliver the documents necessary during your stay. Proceeding to the hotel to have check-in. Lunch is on own leisure or in a restaurant (if reserved). The afternoon will be spent by observing the natural beauties and villages of the island, with a little break along the way and an itinerary of visiting or passing these villages: Procchio, the little isle of Paolina, Marciana Marina with a break at the port which is dominated by a “Pisan” Tower of the XII age. If the group is interested, a visit can be arranged at the perfume laboratories of “Acqua dell'Elba” where perfumes are made with essences of flowers and plants exclusively picked from the island. Proceeding to Marina di Campo, passing through Procchio, Marmi, the airport or through Poggio, Marciana Alta, Sant'Andrea, Chiessi, Pomonte, Fetovaia, Cavoli. If participants would like to go to the aquarium of Elba it can be visited at Marina di Campo: it's one of the most complete aquariums of the Mediterranean which hosts more than 150 species of animals and marine organisms that live in 50 tubs. Returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
3rd DAY: After breakfast, meeting with the guide and visit the Museum of Napoleone in San Martino (*). At the “Grotte” it is possible to take a break to admire the marvellous view of the coast of Portoferraio and visit, by choice, the ruins of the old villa from the imperial roman age. The group then will get the direction for Porto Azzurro and take a break at the agricultural facility “SAPERETA” in Mola where the group can taste (free of charge) local wines and typical local products of Elba. A gift package will be given to the group. Arriving in Porto Azzurro the group will walk through the old town where the Spanish Fort of San Giacomo can be seen which today hosts only prisoners. The walk by the sea offers a fantastic view. Just a little outside the village there is the “Piccola Mineria” where a little laboratory of minerals and hard stones and the Etruscan Mineral Museum interpret a typical Mine of Elba of that time period. By choice, a little train called “Trenino della Miniera” can be used taken to have an experience of the life of a local Miner seeing the old machineries, minerals, etc. In addition, each participant will receive a small and generous souvenir. Lunch is on own leisure or in a restaurant (if reserved). In the early afternoon, the group will proceed to Rio Marina to visit the Mineral Museum of the island with the possibility of reserving a guide (*). A walk on the beach will follow the visit until the tower of “Rio Marina” where, weather conditions permitting, the islands of Cerboli, Palmaiola and the Tuscan coastal line can be seen. Visit of the oratory of San Rocco (XVI). Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Evening with Music upon request for an additional fee (reservation required).
4th DAY: After breakfast, meeting with the guide and visit the old town of Portoferraio. Visit of the winter residence of Napoleon, Villa “Dei Mulini” and the historic centre of Portoferraio, ancient town enclosed by remarkable and impressive forts. The archaeological church of “Misericordia" can be visited or in alternative the beautiful beach “Le Ghiaie” where the legend tells the story of the “Argonauts” driven by “Giasone” were looking for golden fleece but tired because of the trip they decided to rest on this beach of white pebbles and rocks. Their sweat dripped on the pebbles and discoloured them and turned them from pure white to spotted white rocks. Lunch is on own leisure or in a restaurant (if reserved). In the afternoon transfer to the port of Portoferraio to start boarding process for the ferry to Piombino. End of services.
