1st DAY: MONTALCINO
Arrival of the group in the late morning in Montalcino. Lunch at group's leisure or in a restaurant (if reserved): in the afternoon, meeting with the guide and visit of the town which allows to overlook the whole country side. On top of a hill a fort dominates the view with its towers where a spectacular panoramic view can be enjoyed: the view can stretch to the whole Mediterranian Tuscan territory. In the alleys between local shops, little cafè's and little markets where the sale of typical food products of the region can be found, the group can also visit the town hall, the bishops Palace , the church of Sant' Agostino, Sant' Egidio and San Francesco all built between the XIII and the XIV time period, moreover the Sanctuary of “ Madonna del Soccorso”. Check-in at the hotel (Chianciano area), dinner and overnight stay
2nd DAY: MONTEPULCIANO, PIENZA, SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA, BAGNO VIGNONI
After breakfast, departure to Montepulciano, meeting with the guide and a short visit of the historic centre. A the group's liking the following attractions can be visited: the Duomo, the church of S. Augustine, and the church of S. Biagio. Transfer with the bus to Pienza. Visit of the beautiful cathedral (the outside completely different from the inside just like some German gothic churches) and the “Piccolomini” Palace, known for its splendid courtyard. Lunch in a restaurant (if reserved). In the afternoon transfer to San Quirico d'Orcia: this town still has its medieval time walls almost untouched and surrounded by 14 small towers which one of them is called the “Cappucini” tower. Then you can visit the “Chigi” Palace with it's well in the yard and it's church of the Collegiata of the XII time period realized above the ruins of the ancient romanic church of Osenna (VI century). At 5 Km we can visit the typical village of Bagno Vignoni: the characteristics of this town are the thermal waters and its unchanged structure. Matter of fact, the main centre of this town is not like it can be imagined in other places, but it is made by a “piazza-tub” where boiling water that flows at 52° and it is surrounded by almost “untouched” buildings. This project was realized by Bernardo Rossellino in Pope's Pio II honour. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
3rd DAY: SIENA
After breakfast the group will depart to Siena. As soon as the group meet with the the group will visit this charming medieval city by walking through alleys rich of stores that lead to “Piazza del Campo”, also famous for the Palio di Siena" (ancient horses race). Then, visit of the “Pubblico” Palace, the “Mangia” Tower, the “Sansedoni” Palace, the “Civic” Museum. Lunch at group's leisure or lunch in a restaurant (if booked). In the afternoon, it is possible to visit a farm where the group could taste local wines (if booked). Services finish.
